Dr. Mia M. Kirby is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor and therapist, and Clinical Director of Beautiful Balance PLLC. She earned her BS in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana, her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and her PhD in Sociology from Texas Woman’s University.

Dr. Kirby provides trauma-informed, strengths-based, and solution-focused therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. She is extensively knowledgeable in sex and couples therapy, with a focus on supporting sexual and relationship minorities, including LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, and kink/BDSM communities.

She has experience providing therapy across inpatient and outpatient settings and has taught Diversity, African American Studies, and Clinical Therapy at Texas Woman’s University, the University of Texas at Arlington, and The University of North Texas. Her work is grounded in an intersectional, culturally responsive approach that prioritizes affirming, nonjudgmental care and client empowerment.
