There is no RJ without Justice for Immigrants
Texas Equal Access Fund condemns the White House’s current reign of terror against immigrants, their families, and their communities. There is no reproductive justice without justice for immigrants. There is no reproductive justice if people are being gunned down by law enforcement for protesting injustice.
Across the country, ICE and other federal agents have shot and killed people in the street, detained young children at school, parents and caregivers in front of their children, ripped families apart through raids, arrests, and detention. People have taken to the streets to protest these abuses and the administration has answered with violence and intimidation. The White House’s response to expand militarization is an authoritarian move aimed at silencing dissent and normalizing political violence enacted against the people it is supposed to protect.
Reproductive Justice includes the freedom to care for our families in safe communities, to seek care without fear, and to live without surveillance, detention, and family separation. Many members of our TEAm are immigrants or children of immigrants. We are of these communities, we serve these communities, and we will keep showing up, sharing information, and supporting these communities through our work.
We encourage everyone to do what they can to support immigrant justice and fight back against fascism. Here’s how you can help:
Know your rights. There are several organizations in Texas and across the country that provide information about your rights when interacting with ICE and other federal agents. Learn about your rights and share this information with your neighbors. We recommend ACLU Texas and Texas Civil Rights Project.
Donate to trusted organizations like RAICES, Immigrant Defense Project, Legal Aid Justice Center, ACLU local Immigrant bond funds, and more.
Call your members of Congress to demand they vote NO on the DHS spending bill that would increase funding for ICE. Text ‘ICE OUT’ to 30403 to easily connect with your Senator or send them an email.
