Join us on May 6th to celebrate 10 years of TEA Fund serving North Texas!
We are so excited to announce that this year's speaker will be Ana Rodriguez DeFrates, Texas Latina Advocacy Network (TX LAN) State Policy and Advocacy Director for the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health. Together with the Center for Reproductive Rights, the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health produced Nuestro Voz, Nuestra Salud, Nuestro Texas: The Fight for Reproductive Health in the Rio Grande Valley. There are 2.5 million Latinas of childbearing age in Texas, and this report described the violations of Latinas' human rights to life, health, equality, and autonomy and privacy in reproductive decision making. The report also shows how Latinas in the Valley are organizing to educate one another and build their political power. Ms. DeFrates leads the NLIRH Texas state policy agenda, as well as supports the development and execution of their advocacy and organizing strategies state-wide.
Since 2005, the Texas Equal Access Fund has been helping Texans who want an abortion but cannot afford it. We've seen attacks on access here in our home state, but we're continuing to fight -- and we need your help. Join us as we honor our reproductive justice heroes and celebrate a decade of serving the people most often left behind.
